Father's Day! Kennedy is a fish, just like Carter. If you ask her if she can swim, she answers, "yes." Because she believes that she can swim just as well as Carter we have to keep a very careful eye on her in the water. She will often try to swim to one of us when we weren't expecting it. She also loves to jump in from the side and to be thrown.

Carter!!
Here is a picture of Carter with his new glasses. This was taken at his class field trip to the bowling alley. Carter's right eye is amblyopic or he has a lazy eye. Not to be confused with strabismus which is when an eye crosses or points out. His eyes look normal but his prescription is +4.5 in the right and +0.5 in the left. Essentially what happend is that his brain shut off his right eye. His vision in that eye is 20/70 with correction. This is the leading cause of blindness in people under the age of 40. We began patching his left eye (to strengthen the left) yesterday. He does really well with the patching and isn't too bothered by it. He has to patch 6 hours per day. The pronosis is good because it was caught early enough. Usually if it isn't caught and treated before 8 to 10 it is more difficult to correct. He will probably be patching for about 6 months and will be followed by his pediatric othmologist. I think he looks great in his glasses!! I will keep my blog updated as to how he progresses. His next appointment for a vision check is in August.
Besides that we are having a fun summer!

Our weekend project
This is what I have been working on this past week. Carter's new wall color is essentially the same color as it was in our old house. Carter really liked that color and it worked. I really wanted to add crown molding because I hate triming out the ceilings-LOL. I decided to do Carter's room first because that is a great place to start to practice. I am really proud of the job that Kevin and my Dad did. Even though you seasoned carpenters may be able to tell .......it's upside down. Oh well, that is why we started with a secondary bedroom!! This whole remodel was around $200.00. The paint was $50.00 and most everything else went to the molding. In hindsight I kind of wish I would have painted the ceiling blue. I know it sounds weird but I have seen pics of it done and it is beautiful, really makes the molding POP.
